| DESCRIPTION | This function allows the coordinator to enter/editreport diagnostic codes. These diagnostic codes are entered alongwith the interpreting resident and/or staff to indicate an overallimpression stated in the report. The following is the list of 'diagnostic codes' that are loadedas part of the initialization process: 1) Normal 2) Minor Abnormality 3) Major Abnormality, No Attn. Needed 4) Abnormality, Attn. Needed 5) Major Abnormality, Physician Aware 6) Undictated Films Not Returned, 3 Days 7) Unsatisfactory/Incomplete Exam As part of the initialization process, these entries can be deleted.However, once the system is in production, you should not delete anyentries. The names of entries should also not be changed, once inproduction, as this could affect their meaning. If the site decides to enter a diagnostic code for exams, thendatabase searches using VA FileMan can be performed using the 'DiagnosticCode' field of the exam record in the search criteria. For example,the database can be searched for all 'Normal' 'CHEST PA&LAT' procedures. |
